I dunno, what would be the purpose of switching it off to begin with? It is easily detectable, it's not a small vessel, NATO has OTH radars that can detect even very small boats that might be used for illegal activities or probable threats (illegal immigrants, small enemy marine teams etc)

I am pretty sure there is a naval blockade in the region anyway. US has ships, the French have ships, the British etc etc.
