Saw it about 100 years ago...is it making the rounds again!

Long time ago. Ok for a movie of its time.

About 25 years ago, I remember Gene Kelly playing the main roll.

Yes that was the version I watched and it was years ago but I thought still good premise and family friendly...

A beautiful story with the most talented actress and dancer of all-time, Cyd Charisse.

1954 MGM film with Gene Kelley and Chris Johnson. My maternal grand mother, Gladys Louise Graham, had a photograph of her and Barry Jones taken on set with him in full costume stage 10. A family treasure.

Brigadoon is Scot Gaelic for "hidden fortified village."
The story was he village had a spill placed on it to protect it from evil and it would only appear for one day every one hundred years. Perhaps, to protect the Jacobites from being
all transported out of the land of Scotland. They sent most everybody to the colonies, but wanting to keep an eye on us we were sent to County Down in Ulster [North Ireland]. Later we were allowed to go to Markham in Canada, then in 1920 as part of the Canadian National Defense Plan No. 1 to Los Angeles Calif. when it was but 200,000 folks. Now there is 100 times that number. Harold Graham was the only in house printer MGM ever had.

Great Great Grandmother Mary Frances Graham came over from Ulster to Canada where she died in the early 1920's. Some living women still have the middle name Frances among the Irish Grahams. Louise comes from the oldest daughter of the Prince Albert consort to Queen Victoria. We are some what Royal bastards being from Albert but not his cousin and Queen Victoria. MGM gave jobs to both Harold and Gladys L. Titt- Graham.

Brigadoon was the first play I was ever in.

Some of those old musicals will do that.

I still have the old 45s vinyl recordings of the Broadway play in my house (somewhere). Loved the music, and loved the movie also. Gene Kelley was always such an athletic dancer and a great actor.

I have to admit, it's one of my favorites too! Every so often it comes on TV and I catch it if I can. Having seen it at different ages has been interesting; the first time I saw it at about 10, it went right over my head that if anyone left the village boundary the whole village would disappear forever. As I grew older I saw it again and then it became one of the foundations of the entire movie!

Another great "old movie" is "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir" with Rex Harrison as the Ghost.

It's a musical from the 1940's or 1950's. Maybe it might be on YouTube?

LOL! The AC is obviously a "modern man" who has come to expect lots of explosions, car chases, and GCI-Special Effects in his movies!

IIRC, "Brigadoon" was filmed in color.

She is so hot...She makes today Holyweird's actresses look like country bumpkins!..Great movie!

Worth the 2.99 to watch online a classic

AN ENTIRE FILM FILLED WITH WHITE PEOPLE. ACCORDING TO IMDB ITS A HORROR MOVIE. TWENTY THOUSAND PROGS WERE TRIGGERED JUST BY YOUR THREAD TITLE.

We watched it again last night.
A pure, wholesome movie of a better time.

Wish there was a real Brigadoon I could go to.
