That is a special cat. Looks like they raised himorher on the boat. Perfect cat for on the seas. Surprised there was no fishing! The life these people are living with their cat is the dream of humanity. An American dream for sure but also a universal dream as they show. Very good stuff!

have a boat thinking about adding a cat this is great how they trained her getting her ready for the lifestyle a shame i would like to adopt a 1-2 year old but i dont know how it would react.

I've got one that sits on the side of the tub batting at the water. He's comfortable enough with it that when he does fall in, he doesn't claw the living fuck out of me.

He just patiently clings to the side of the tub looking pathetic and getting fur in the perfectly good bathwater until I push him back up on the side.

What about a nice safe buoyant Nerf cat on a string? You know a test run thingy and go from there.

Get a cat drinking fountain (its a thing), and bring it with you to visit potential cats. The ones that run from the room are not for you. The ones that look interested and bat at it...maybe. The one that dives in head first...

Some cats are just more socialized than others and they can be pretty damn cool. Bet that one gets plenty of fresh fish!

I've had two very special cats in recent years. One left us way too quickly, but he was special. Got him as a tiny kitten that I had to bottle feed,etc. He never meowed and I swear he thought he was human. Liked to steal jewelry off the dressers too and hide a stash under the beds. The other lived a longer life and she was the coolest cat ever. Nothing fazed her (except the bloodhound who showed up one day and insisted on treeing her, she didn't care for that persistence) and she would often follow us just like a dog when we took a walk in the woods. Best cat ever, RIP.

Makes me nervous too. I would have a life jacket and harness and leash on mine.

Most of the boating cat vids, very few, do have the cats on a leash. This was a special cat. A dog cat but still a cat. Seems to have been from bringing it as a kitten onto the boat.

Must be, the problem is boats have nothing to claw onto.
