A Constitutional Amendment REQUIRES 2/3 of the STATES to APPROVE Such a change is going to totally disadvantage about 90% of the states so WHY would they be inclined to APPROVE the change? Some states that are disadvantages "may" approve it ... but getting a vast majority of the states that are disadvantaged to approve it? VERY UNLIKELY. The Electoral College is nothing new. It has been there since the country was founded. It was put in for a reason ... precisely so the masses of people in the populated states did not overwhelm and then dictate to the people of those states that were more lightly populated. It is one of the most basic underlying principles of our form of Government. Next thing you will be demanding is that the US Senate get proportioned out according to population. The fact that each state ONLY gets 2 Senators follows the same exact logic of the founders, something that you in your infinite wisdom obviously disagree with even though that has now been in place for 230 years. OP ... you keep REPOSTING this issue almost every day. Give it a break!
