"The Trump administration said Wednesday that children born to U.S. military members and government employees working overseas will no longer automatically be considered United States citizens.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a policy on Wednesday rescinding previous guidance stating that kids born to U.S. service members and other government officials abroad are considered “residing in the United States” and automatically given citizenship under a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)."

Wow!

This is huge.

Maybe laying the ground work and setting up for an EO on birthright citizenship.

What's the problem? Is it really too difficult to APPLY for citizenship for those who are NOT citizens? OH my....they have to fill out some paperwork or info online.

"The guidance states that "U.S. citizen parents who are residing outside the United States with children who are not U.S. citizens should apply for U.S. citizenship on behalf of their children under INA 322, and must complete the process before the child’s 18th birthday."

Good comment:

"How is this a slap in the face to Americans who serve in the US Military?

All this announcement does is follow current Federal Laws, as passed by Congress. It no longer allows for children born outside the United States to automatically be granted US Citizenship under the US Immigration and Nationality Act 320.
Instead, it will now require applying for Naturalization under INA 322, which is the LAW.

So in NO way is this denying children born TO US Military personnel or government employees residing outside the US...it will simply require some additional paperwork.

My God, it's like you clowns just post comments based solely on 'Feelings' and 'Gut Reactions' without doing an iota of research.
Cluck, Cluck, Cluck chirp the Leftist Hens."

This makes sense, not all active duty military personnel are US citizens...
