Why are Americans so harsh on people who don't like who don't like certain foods?

Even fellow Americans who for instance don't like eggs. Masses of posters will come into the thread saying things like "you just don't cook them correctly retard", "learn to season your eggs moron"

Couldn't it be that the person simply doesn't like eggs in any form?

And then there are tons of other examples too. I've seen Americans going off on people for not liking chicken, for daring not to find green veggies tasty, for preferring takeout pizza to make it yourself pizza, etc

I've seen this all over the internet and it's always Americans getting personally offended that some guy doesn't like the same foods as him.

Does nobody in America have certain tastes? You all eat and enjoy the exact same foods as each other?
