i was just joking about the litter box and peeing...Certain cats just like the tub...Had a cat who liked the acoustics of the tub when she sang

-----------------

This is the stuff you guys need to teach me...I know NOTHING about cats. This is quite a learning curve I'm going thru here.

How much are you supposed to feed them?

She's well past the danger point of starvation but now I think she might be getting fat. I also got her on dry cat food finally but I still give her some canned salmon & canned cat food.

I'm also sure she was abused....she's extremely aggressive, especially with others.

---------------

Kitty is very timid & she has a twitch in her back that suggests to me her tail may have been broken.

I very lightly massage right where her spine meets her tail & she looks like she's in therapy...if I put a hair too much pressure she runs away...but when I do it just right there is such a relief shown on her face.

Re: Stray Cat In My Back Yard
Kitty taught me something about prepping.

How important sleep is!

When I first let her in the house she was sleeping like a dead cat...I'd go mess with her & she wouldn't wake up.

I figured she wasn't getting good sleep being outside for months & now I saw the two things you need to get a good night sleep...

Safety and warmth!

Kitty must have been sleeping with one eye open the whole time she was outside.

Expect at least 14 hrs of sleep from a cat, totaly normal, not odd at all OPIE. You're doing a grand job and bonding rather well by the sounds of it. Trust is a wonderful thing, as you're finding out with that big hear of your.

I'm learning that.

But she doesn't sleep as hard as when she first came into the house...when I hold her hand she wakes up now...back then she didn't wake up even when I turned her body over.

One time I had to watch to see her breathing to make sure she didn't croak.

It's funny...now that she understands "holding hands"...as I slowly pull my hand away she sometimes uses her claws to NOT let go of my hand :)

As I move my hand back into position she retracts her claws.

Good work being a friend of the kitties. Maybe that kitty will learn to trust you and become like Cinnabon the cat.

I do that...she didn't like it at first but now she does.

She's black & grey with a little spot of brown on her back...tiger stripes.

She's growing alot now with proper nutrition...I just had to go out & get a bigger litter box. She loves it :D

Nah. Worst that'll happen is she'll puke (she will anyway, it's their occasional pastime) and she'll be off to investigate something else.

We got a foot of snow last night.

After I got done plowing & shoveling...kitty was asking to go outside...I thought, this could be good for a yuk :D

So I open the back door & kitty is looking in bewilderment. She steps out & into the snow wondering WTF?

Then she jumps off the deck into the snow & starts bounding thru it all the way across the yard to the tool shed. She digs a hole in the snow & goes under the shed.

wtf

She stays under there for about 20 minutes & came bounding back to the house.

I wonder if she has a friend living under there 1dunno1

She was almost dead & begging for my help. Poor little girl couldn't even eat solids at first...I fed her soup for the first 2 days.

whatever they want.... is how much. I don't like most canned foods for mine.. I feed them highly dried... at least 4 varieties so they have choice.. and they eat what they want.

I also give them some tuna fish for breakfast each day as a treat and change... Human tuna fish.. not that god awful canned shit for animals.

I never exterminate any animals which come around and I have walked with foxes and coyotes.... At my old place I fed them all. I maintained a breakfast buffet as I called it.. and since racoons are evening feeders they got dinner.

Since I moved. not allowed but I do put out some things I can't eat for the neighborhood crows.. we have a lot and a bit for the one squirrel that comes by...

Raccoons have to eat too.

Plus, they are actually smarter than dogs.

Don't give it hot sauce.
