I personally avoid using that word or "Communist" for various people of the left because a lot of them will think those words don't apply to them. That's in spite of plenty of them also saying or thinking (if only unconsciously), "well, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Chavez-Maduro may have been been ruthless, inhumane and destroyers of their nations, but they did mean well. Their hearts at least were in the right place. They at least provided free healthcare.

"But I'm not a Communist or Socialist. I can't be. I like my daily Starbucks, driving around in my Land Rover and yearly trips to the Swiss Alps too much. But Stalin, Mao and Castro did have nice intentions. Just like me."
