DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The United States Postal Service tells BocaNewsNow.com that homeowners in new communities using a “Cluster Box Unit” — a central distribution point within a community — should relax and stop asking postal workers for their personal mail.

The problem — aggressive homeowners demanding their mail — has gotten so bad in new Delray and Boca communities that postal employees have asked community managers to tell homeowners that it’s illegal to take mail directly from a postal delivery person anywhere other than at your door.

Said another way: It is not okay to take mail from a postal working filling a cluster box unit, or “CBU.”

New communities of all price points are now required to use CBU’s in an effort to make delivery easier for the postal service.

found this from July - Florida now mandates for ALL new housing those ugly central mailboxes, like you see in shopping centers and the like.

People don't like them and for good reason.
The article does not address the reasons centrailized mailboxes are just one more example of Big State gone awry.

Graffiti and vandalism magnets, difficult for many handicapped people, and a traffic hindrance depending on placement.
