I hear the build ups. When is very intense is about to happen. Especially in silence, furing the night is quite impossible to not notice it. If I'm sleeping I would wake up by the utrasounds just minutes away.

also, look for ribbed cloud formations. Many times these form just prior to a quake. Science fact. The vibrations from the ground create waves going up which create the ribbed shapes. Like the fashion winter jackets people wear.

there is a security video out there of a house or cat sitting business full of cats. About 30 seconds before a quake hits, some cats just jump up and start running. Then about 5 seconds before, ALL the cats take off like their hair is on fire.

As I understand it, earthquakes sound like rocks breaking underground.

My dog would always get my attention, sit, then sniff the air in a certain direction. Then he would go to a rounded wall in the dining room and roll up in a ball as small as he could make himself. Within 12 hrs we would have a quake, epicentered in the direction he sniffed at.
