Emotionally distraught Paris Hilton returned to jail today after spending one day at home on house arrest.
"She has been remanded for the remainder of her sentence," Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told reporters after Hilton's brief hearing before Judge Michael Sauer.

Hilton, 26, was taken from the courtroom screaming "Mom" and "It's not right." She appeared in court disheveled and dabbing her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents seated behind her and mouthed, "I love you."

Sauer held a "short and sweet" hearing, Parachini said, to consider arguments about how the hotel heiress should finish out the 45-day sentence he handed down for violating probation on a prior reckless driving charge. Hilton returned to the Central Regional Detention Facility.

In court, Sauer questioned why Hilton wasn't treated for an undisclosed medical condition at the jail in Lynnwood, Calif. Sheriff's officials Thursday cited a medical reason for allowing Hilton to leave jail and complete her sentence at home.

"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," Sauer said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home."

Four years ago at Burning Man, actress Susan Sarandon famously drank the ashes of psychologist and LSD advocate Timothy Leary.

This year proved to be equally star-studded, with masses of prominent figures popping up throughout the makeshift mecca.

Electronic DJ Diplo descended on the playa in a plane with the orange-lettered Popeye's logo. He emerged holding two plastic bags filled with dozens of the fast food chain's fabled chicken sandwiches. "Wendy's, your move," he wrote.

Reality star Paris Hilton took to Twitter and Instagram to share a few animated photos of her Burning Man style, adorned with shimmering flames and sparkles.

EDM duo Gorgon City were seen bicycling around the playa in matching marching uniform jackets. "If you haven't been, then don't knock it till you try it," they wrote on Instagram.

And Sharna Burgess of "Dancing with the Stars" shared a photo with two friends she met at the festival, fondly writing, "The smile on my face is massive and genuine and my heart is so full."
