P.S. -- Tesla cars are total pieces of dogshit and a huge scam. The company has never come close to turning a profit and it never will.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77976976

And yet nearly every Tesla owner loves their car and will happily buy another when the time comes. Average income of a Tesla owner is $153,000, so we're not dealing with morons here, even if some of them tend to vote Democrat.

we ARE dealing with brainwashed liberals, which is a widespread subset of moron.

you have just shown they do not learn from experience - buy one again!

they have been told by Oprah et al that electric cars are gooood for the environment

greeeen, if you will. However:

[link to notrickszone.com (secure)]

Germany’s Stuttgarter Zeitung here reports that electric cars are in fact pretty bad for the climate, it turns out. So, once activists are done banning fossil fuel powered vehicles, then electric ones will soon follow.

According to a new German study, electric cars have “significantly higher CO2 emissions than diesel cars”, and especially the Tesla Model 3 “performs particularly poorly” as it emits over 150 grams of CO2 for each kilometer it travels!

Up to 28% more CO2!

According to a study led by Christoph Buchal of the University of Cologne released by the Ifo Institute in Munich, when one takes into account Germany’s current energy mix — where the share of coal and gas still remains considerable — and the amount of energy used for electric car battery production, CO2 emissions by electric cars are higher than comparable diesel powered cars.

Co-authors of the study were energy expert Hans-Dieter Karl and renowned economist Professor Hans-Werner Sinn.

Citing the results of the study, the Stuttgarter Zeitung writes that when the production of the batteries is accounted for, an e-car “burdens the climate 11 – 28% more than a diesel car”.

Diesel! That's gotta hurt!

An early hybrid that has nothing to do with Tesla. Are you too thick to see the progress that's been made since?

In other news, electric cars can run out of fuel, just like er any other car. Who'd have thunk it?

yep, progress....

Connected things are wonderful until they fail on you. Numerous Tesla owners allegedly experienced this today as they got locked out of the car because the app was apparently down for maintenance.

Several users took Twitter to pour out their agony. Some of them were logged out of the app and weren’t able to use it to unlock their cars.

Some users are now reporting that the app is back up. However, there’s no word from Tesla on what caused the outage. We’ve reached out to the company, and we’ll update the story if we hear back.

HAHAHAHAHA! This is another reason why I would never buy any supertech car like this. What happens in a power failure that is regional? You can't charge the car but you can store gas at home. Your also locked out of your fabulous techie vehicle. You cant make this stuff up.

You can't really buy a Tesla. You just buy the rights to touch it, drive it, ride it. When you sell it, you have to tell Tesla, and they will give those rights to a different person. And you can't take it anywhere to get repaired except Tesla, and they can charge anything they want for any repair. They can deny charging, access, anything. And they can steer your car into a semi if you post stuff they don't like on GLP. Forget that they track your movements --- every word said in those cars is computer voice recognized to ascii and added to your file.

Your name says it all. It must be tough to go through life being stupid.

Fisher also took $300 Million Dollars in Obama “Green” loans to build electric cars in Elkhart Indiana. He touted it in a nationally televised speech that the media fawned over.

They built 100 cars in 18 months, then went bankrupt. Only 40-some of those cars ever left the factory, donated to local non-profits. Most broke down on a Day One.

THEY NEVER SOLD A SINGLE CAR....

But they did “donate” money to several “ Social Justice” organizations, who no doubt plowed the money back into Democrat Campaigns, like Pete Bootygigg’s, for instance.

The word "APP" is slang for "I own the software... fucking PAY ME! "

Anyone who voluntarily uses "fly by wire" technology deserves to be locked out of their cars, have the temp in your house raised to 150 degrees while your away... killing your pets, and your brand new car suddenly speeding up to 120 miles per hour and the brakes don't work.

If you can't for see this shit coming then you're a dope.

Plus you never use cash and don't even have cash on hand. So your FUCKED.

While you are sitting on the curb in front of your house ... depressed and sullen ... I will be driving by in my car, toot the horn, roll down my window and say "how does it feel sucker". Then flip you off.... and laugh... with my radio on.

I commuted 160 miles in heavy San Francisco bay area traffic, daily, in an electric vehicle. A BMW i3. I was motivated to gain access to the commuter lane to shave off an hour in each direction. I'm forever sold on EVs. The i3 doesn't have autopilot, but it does have adaptive cruise control, which enabled me to drive that long commute without once having to set foot on the brake or the accelerator in stop and go traffic across two major bridges.

I can't wait to purchase a Model 3 with autopilot. I look forward to full autonomous mode and will use it when I can--with constant vigilance, of course.

Autopilot is probably a safer driver than I am in good driving conditions, and I'm a safe driver. I don't have eyes all around my head and zero lapses in attention, nor do I have the sort of vision a Tesla system does.

And Tesla was even better in V1, when they were using the software from the Israeli company Mobileye. But then they lost the right to that software and had to go to V2, more sensors and worse performance.

I think it's Intel that is working with Mobileye now.
