The perfect storm

There is only one nation capable today to give back the Grand Bahamas to itself.
The cost will be a deep water port with airbase.

After that comes the anti aircraft and missile silo's for a deterrent against aggression.

I bet Cuba will back this idea and possibly give the Russians a new deal for an airbase too.

Wouldn’t put it past them to stall the hurricane and destroy island. Makes whatever deal offered that much more attractive. Less resistance to digging out a deep port.
