The greatest success of commercial aviation history. All versions considered. Passenger and cargo. Still flying the world over. Other than North Korea, every country has them, worldwide. Airbus A380 double deck passenger aircraft the project was announced in 1990 to challenge the dominance of the Boeing 747 in the long haul market. first flight on 27 April 2005 In February 2019, the CEO of Airbus announced in a shareholders meeting that it will end the A380 production by 2021. There are still 13 frames to be delivered. One for Japan early 2020, the remaining 12 will go to Emirates the airline of the UAE. From the entry into service in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines to the announcement of the end of production early 2019 makes a 12 years production lifespan for this revolutionary aircraft. Quoting: Concorde Warrior F-BVFA Door blows out during ground test on Boeing 777X jet Boeing’s new widebody jet, the 777X, suffered a setback Thursday afternoon during a high-pressure stress test on the ground when one of the airplane’s cargo doors exploded outward. One 777X employee working in a nearby bay at Boeing’s Everett plant said he heard “a loud boom and the ground shook.” The accident happened to what’s called the “static test airplane,” one of the two airplanes in any new jet program that are built for ground testing only and will never fly. It was during the final test that must be passed as part of the airplane’s certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The failure of the door will require careful analysis to find out why it happened, and it may mean Boeing will have to replace the door and repeat the test. -50% [link to www.seattletimes.com (secure)] Stress testing and pressure testing. China is a looooong ways away from being able to build its own passenger jets. We can debate why what's happening to Boeing is happening -- is it just a poorly-run company or is it being sabotaged for some reason? -- but Boeing is screwed. |

Took an Airbus 340 on the way over, and a Boeing 777 on the way back. There was no comparison as far as features and comfort go, the 777 was way nicer. Whatever is going on though, between the 737 MAX and this stuff, makes me want to avoid them. We flew through Germany and saw some of the Airbus 380 double-decker planes. Those things are huge. It tests design and engineering in processes that far exceed the normal operational stresses of the plane once it's in the air. There's no big deal here. |

Guerrilla tape is the answer! Actually it calls into question the hold structural engineering handbook as to how strong the carbon fiber is.if it ends up that there's a problem with the carbon fiber structural strength the whole plane maybe toast! |
