It is because today's average Christian can only mindlessly babble about "How The Bible and Jesus Seem to Be."

And, "How Excited I Am Just To Know I Am Saved By Grace Because Paul Said I Am!"

For Chtistians today, their Christian faith is just another add-on for their busy lives. A matter of making a pragmatic choice, like buying the right Stock in the Stock Market. And then managing it, then cashing it in later. They sport the packaging, but are empty inside.

2) Repent and be saved for I am the way, the truth and the life, so believe in me the only doorway out.

Jesus never sought to "lift" anyone's Spirit. Jesus was a "Man of Sorrows," and you are too mindless to see it as you sit in church, mouth and heart agape to be fed prechewed, partially digested, and regurgitated stories from your Professional Church Talker Preacher.

1. God Is Love.
2. I and my father are one.
 Quoting: The Semi Shut In

"my God, your God, my Father, your Father"

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and
there were great voices in heaven, saying,

The kingdoms of this world are become
the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his
Christ;
and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Matthew 16

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

These are the statements that Jesus made which show His subserviance and obedience to the Father.

...the Father is GREATER than I. John 14:28 & John 10:29

14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

...I do ONLY the Father's Will. John 6:37-39

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

...I PRAY to the Father. Matthew 26:36-42, Mark 14:32-39 & John 17

Matthew 26:36-42

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Mark 14:32-39

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;
34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

John 3: 16 is the gospel message in a sentence.
But if I am not allowed to quote the Bible, then it is simply this: Because God loved us he sent Jesus to pay the death penalty on our behalf so that our relationship with him could be restored for ever.

Before you start over reacting again to me, stop and think about this question, here. "What makes you think your definition and understanding of kindness and a tender heart is correct today, and is the same as was in Christendom when The Bible was written?"

1. When you die physically, you will also die spiritually, and be separated from God forever, existing in mental torment (not physical pain), knowing that you had a choice to die this way or to be born again.

2. Through the grace of God, people can live eternally in spiritual connection with Him, by choosing to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, who was sent to Earth, who lived as a man, free of sin, who died on the cross, and who was resurrected on the third day to return to his heavenly Father to rule over the saved in the newly created world.

...

OP, you are correct. As Matthew 24:12 says, wickedness in our world is currently abounding to the extent that the love (agape) of many has and is waxing cold.

What is agape? 2 John 1:6:
And this is love (agape), that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Most Christians don't walk after his commandments. As you convey, they "got saved" one day and they're good to go on living how they want.

However, the good news is that God knows how to crush His people and bring us to repentance and obedience to the truth.

The truth is that most people past, present, and future, even most who call themselves Christians, are vessels of wrath fitted to destruction. They will go through the wide gate that leads to destruction. And this is the will of God.
 Quoting: NoFriendOfTheWorld

Do you walk after all of God's Commandments? Yes? No? Just answer the question without some far flung explanation.

In fact, I already know you cannot truthfully answer. That is because you cannot even remember all of God's Commandmrnts. And, you are too afraid to honestly admit you do not follow all of God's Commands.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76878076

I'm not saying that Christians are justified by doing good works and walking in the commandments of God by their own free will. As Romans 3:20 and Galations 2:16 point out, no flesh is justified by the deeds/works of the law.

That's exactly why Christ had to come and die for our sins; because no man can possibly observe all of the laws of God without fail.

However, God's sheep were created and ordained to walk in good works, by the grace of God.

uSt 2:8-10

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

When we obey the truth, it is only because of the inner Man, Christ Jesus. It has nothing to do with our wretched selves taking credit for something that we could never do in and of ourselves.

As Philippians 2:13 says:
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

It's all God, not us.

Christians will obey the truth because God has ordained them to. If we go through our lives NOT obeying the truth and walking after the spirit, then we do not belong to God. It's a simple fact. In no way does that imply that Christians will obey by their own strength, or even choice.

Just like I said, as a Church Talker you cannot keep it simple. All talk. Circular reasoning. Mutually exclusive nonsense. Everything caveated into oblivion. Milque toast aphorisms painted with sincerity and emotions.

Lol.

Here is simple. Either we are born vessels of wrath, fitted to destruction (goats), or vessels of mercy, prepared unto glory (sheep).

If you are a goat, it is because God made you a goat from the foundation of the world and that you will never come to Christ, nor will will you have a desire to...(if you're a goat). Goats cannot ever become sheep.

If you're a sheep, you WILL conform to the image of Christ and learn obedience to the truth. If you're born a sheep, you are lost until Christ brings you back into His fold.

That's pretty much black and white.

You are describing a humanly created theory. Pity those who follow it.

And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Jesus commanded His People to "Love One Another As I Have Loved You."

Do you ever do that? If so, what material actions to you implement to duplicate Christ's Love?

Lovehfone another, as Jesus loves us.

How do you personally do that exactly as did Jesus? Or, maybe you just like to talk about it.
