Anonymous Coward User ID: 77940618 United States 09/09/2019 12:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In an ad for an Australian sports betting app, Mark Sargent gladly plays the role of a "fool" and deliberately makes flat earthers look foolish. Oh, and in case anyone thinks they tricked him into filming this under false pretenses... they didn't. He willingly did this and has no problem with it even now that he sees the finished product. He thanked them in the comments saying that he "had fun" making fun of the beliefs he supposedly holds. Quoting: Astroshill "markksargent 3 days ago Thanks for giving me the opportunity to come down and shoot this guys! Had fun. Oh, and the world is still FLAT. Long Live Flat Earth" Now, I'm not suggesting that all flat earthers are disingenuous pricks who are just promoting this nonsense because they're in it for the money and attention, but some of the leading figures very clearly are. Here we have Mark Sargent, central figure of the "Behind the Curve" flat earth documentary, openly shilling for a few bucks for an Australian sports betting app while throwing his own movement under the bus in the process. Do you guys get it now? He doesn't even believe this stuff himself, it's a business, he's shilling for whoever will pay him to dance on the stage and make us all look like idiots. Yep, just like asking a christian to go record a satanist tv ad glorifying satan and they go. Goes to show he's an attention whore and DOESN'T stand by his "beliefs" |

He did an ad making fun of flat earthers, this isn't that hard to understand. Seems I'm not the one with deficits in logic and reasoning. |

His ENTIRE existence has been on a flat earth and from the same perspective. If he would like to provide ONE example where he's personally witnessed the curve of the Earth, he would effectively be able to destroy the Flat Earth movement in one bold stroke! |

Quoting: Astroshill Then I'll do it for you: yes, they are. Not all. Some are legitimately disturbed individuals who need mental help. Here's a prime example of that kind of "exceptional" individual: I actually feel bad for him, maybe he really was sexually abused as a kid and flat earth is just part of his coping mechanism, a way of expressing severe distrust in any and all authorities. I also think he's delusional, unstable, and exactly the kind of person who is liable to turn into a mass shooter at some point. |

That doesn't have anything to do with whether any issues he raises is legit. It just means he can poke fun at himself especially for some dough. Many people are like that. |

Even something as simple as the clockwise rotation of the south celestial pole vs the counterclockwise rotation of the north celestial pole blows his beliefs out of the water. Were in a advanced simulation, world of Maya the Illusion. All major religions and ancients and secret societies teach this. God is within us and we were the programmers, Now were punished to live out the program that we ourselves written. We advance and learn from our mistakes . Thats the entirety of the path. |

Space is not a true vaccuum, it is just REALLY REALLY CLOSE to being a vacuum. And a vacuum does not 'suck', it is just sorta THERE. Does the Earth lose atmosphere, as it spins and travels through space? Yes. But it also replenishes its atmosphere. You have to think of basically all the world's oceans as PART OF THE ATMOSPHERE. |

Yes or no, you don't even seem aware of the fact that Arwijn is a different person than Mark Sargent? Arwijn is clearly delusional, unstable, full of rage, and potentially dangerous. Believe it or not, some people really are delusional like that. Debating them will not help them, but it might make you a target. I've learned that the hard way in the past with people who have threatened me. He needs to be institutionalized and medicated, not debated. |

Well, yeah, some are mentally ill, others are really naive well-meaning people who genuinely believe they've stumbled upon a huge conspiracy after seeing a few videos on Youtube, but most of those people who put out all these flat-earth videos are professional manipulators and con artists and do it only for clicks and money If they truly cared about the truth, there are a lot of ways they could prove it for themselves first, before they start pumping out tens of videos about it |
