Tent courthouses for migrants to open along Texas border

Two huge tent complexes that will house immigration courts are about to open in south Texas.

One will be right on the Rio Grande, at the Laredo, Texas port of entry and the other not that far away in Brownsville, Texas.

The Laredo facility will have 20 courtrooms and will process 200 to 250 cases per day.

The Brownsville, Texas tent facility will process at least 700 cases a day.

Cost was stated as $25 million but not sure if that was for one or both.

Initially, the cases will be to address the backlog of Latinos who are waiting across the border for their asylum cases to be heard.

The judges will be located in a facility in San Antonio, Texas and will hear the cases via video link to the tent facilities.
