CHAPTER ONE - SOME INFORMATION ABOUT JESUS
MEETING WITH ABRAHAM
Who is Jesus? To understand who Jesus is we must go back further in time to a man named Abraham. Abraham learned how to hear the Voice of God, just like we will learn to hear God from reading this book. Originally Abraham was known as Abram and years later his name was changed to Abraham.
Gen_12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Gen_12:4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him;
Here we see from the Bible’s book called Genesis, and in chapter 12 and in verses 1 and 4, that Abram was able to hear God’s voice. Please notice that Abraham heard God and then he obeyed what God asked him to do. Abraham shows us two things that are the most important in our relationship with God: Faith and Obedience.
FAITH AND OBEDIENCE
The next section goes on to define faith and talk about obedience. That section ends with the following quote:
"Abraham teaches us that faith and obedience pleases God. Why do we want to please God? Just as we do with a human father, we children want our behavior to please Father God because it makes Him happy and proud of us. Father God does everything for us, He gives us life and all good things come from God. In return for His blessings then, we should give Him our desire to make right decisions."
