BIG Earthquake so california, only a 3.9 epicenter under my house

It will be on the earthquake sites if it isn't already soon

Felt it too in Beverly Hills 90210

May have been a 5, depending on how far from me

going to look it up

says 3.9 on usgs site.

A 5 is not a big quake.

I felt it. Big jolt.

While this is correct. Even A 3.9 if you are close enough is pretty unnerving when it picks up and drops your house.. Also a sign of more to come?

darn.. didn't feel it in san diego.

It was short, even bigger quakes farther away you feel longer, I've been through a few 6+ magnitudes close, I started to type while it was still shaking

The problem with those big jolt ones is it feels like a knock at the door for the bigger one behind it.

Trying to find where to pin-point exactly, USGS has satellite but not enough detail, global incident, nah, what's the link.

By what I can tell so far the epicenter is within a mile


old news, always a thought, will this keep going, and if it doesn't back to business as usual.

Shake map didn't even make it to Oceanside.

Depends on your proximity to the epicenter and what kind of ground you're on.

Pretty hard to tell the magnitude of an event you sat through until others report in nearby.

Just made it inside the third ring, but not a bull's eye

being so close, I called near 5 without knowing how close it was, that's pretty close, at the intensity had it lasted longer then my magnitude guess would have been higher.

feel enough of them and you really can get a sense of the size

When the landers quake hit, I did something dumb, ran to the front window looked outside while it was still going, the ground look like it had waves rolling through it.

Kind of cool

that one was a 7.3 but was about 100 miles away as the crow flys

One can only hope.

And EAT hasnt predicted a big one latley so the chances are really high right now.
