I was asleep totally strung out on 3 different anti seizure meds with one of them being kolonipin when my husband called and told me what was going on. I got up & watched about 20 minutes of it before going back to bed & to sleep.

It seemed more like a movie. Husband got caught on the I-20 lockdown around BAF base that afternoon & didn't get home till late.
Having a degree in building construction I knew there was shady shit going on when the buildings fell like they did.

I was right here getting ready to go to work. Someone called and asked if I was watching news on television. I wasn't watching television so switched it on. Couldn't believe it. Spent most of the day listening to radio at the office to hear what was happening. Didn't watch the news until later that evening.

Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
living in NY, hubs was working in Manhattan...the week before we had company, his niece from Japan, my young niece from Illinois we had taken them into the city to the towers and the statue of Liberty...what a wonderful day

Fast forward a week later, I was nursing a major ear infection, getting ready to go to the dr/hospital...my son comes flying down the stairs "A plane just hit with world trade tower". My very first thought after clicking on the tv was "they finally got it". We watched in horror as everything else melted away. My hubs had not gone into the city that day, thank god

For me it was the days after that the terror set in, could we drink the water, could we go out...it was a constant barrage of fear. The first planes to fly down the Hudson 3 days later, my first visit to the city a week later...and all that time I couldn't go to the dr, ears seemed so trivial, thank god for a sister who brought me ear drops

Everyone wants to remember the unity but I remember going to the grocery store the first time after, hubs in tow (he was Japanese) and the looks, the anger, the fear...I wanted to yell he's Japanese not Arabic

It ended up costing us everything, he lost his job, we sold we moved, I wanted to feel safe. The world we all knew changed that day

Living in South Florida, had got up around 8:00 am, had the TV news on, drinking coffee.
Reports of the first plane hitting started coming on, small plane etc etc.
My biz partner calls, you seein this shit man?
Me: watching it, holy shit man, that's no small plane man, that tower is huge, I was just there, plane HAS to be like airliner sized.
How the fuck is that possible?
I dunno man, but the Twin towers are huge, and they dominate downtown, there's almost no way this could be any kind of accident...no way...
Then the Second tower got hit.
WTF! WTF Was that! explosion?
Holy shit man it was another plane, I saw it! another plane crashed right into it!

Then we both knew it was an attack.

I was eating breakfast and having morning coffee in the university cafeteria while reading Baruch Spinoza's Tractatus Theologico-Politicus. I was trying to take copius notes on his arguments for Ezra being the scribe of the Dodecateuch. To this day, his is the only argument that has been cohesive and clear to me.

Was at work, cust. Serv. , SMkw.

Friend came in, said... "Did you hear a plane hit one of the WTC?" Waited for the punchline.

No punchline. Looked it up.

Confirmed.

.mil background

Call friends tell them to turn on the TV. (Some worked late some were college.)

All agreed... An attack.

2nd plane...

"Get your shit together and rally @ my place. This could be a prelude to 1st strike."

Pentagon.

"Arm heavy arm deep. Confirmed. We are under attack."

Still kids US, but we acted accordingly.

Started documenting everything. All news outlets. Every forum we belonged to.

Armed. Scared af. This isn't right.

Be me, realizing with absolute assuredness.....

Allowed to happen...

I was at work. Directly across the street was a very large USA flag and they lowered it halfway. I turned on the radio, we caught the main idea of what was happening. Ironically a very good friend is already saying terrorists and we all went home. Literally locked up and left. I saw most of it live on TV at home.

It wasn't morning where I lived.
It was in 10th grade and I was taking the bus home.
A friend told me that plane crashed into Trade Center in NY. I thought that it was a glorified mall or sth and a small plane. Didn't even check the news until late in the evening.

Finally, when saw the news, there were people crying on streets of NY like fucking retards. The videos of the second plane crashing were pretty cool and I entertained myself looking for new videos.

Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
Had just delivered a repaired computer to a customer who lived way out in the country. Husband had been diagnosed with cancer less than a month earlier, had had the surgery, and was about to start chemo. We were driving down this serene gravel road through cow pastures when we turned on the radio to hear a plane had hit the towers. Almost immediately the second plane hit and we knew there was a third plane "missing".

I remember saying, "Oh, my God, we're at war."

Had no idea how right that was, although I'd mis-guessed the real enemy. Didn't realize that life had just changed forever, and not for the better. But at that moment, my main concern was how my husband was going to get treatment if everything was shut down.

Dropped him at the house and ran for the supermarket to stock up on basics. Weird thing, I seemed to be the only one buying big sacks of rice, and beans, and flour, and powdered milk. By the time I had checked out, people were thronging into the store.

We hardly moved from the TV for the next two days.

In a weird way, 9/11 saved me. I was on the edge of major depression over hub's cancer and the hugeness of the event snapped me out of it.

It also finished the job the Warren Report started. Can't remember a single time since when I believed the "official version" of anything without investigation.

My husband survived. The jury is still out on America.

Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
I was living in the Midwest on Eastern Standard Time, and had spent most of the night before crafting a business plan with a future goal of becoming self-employed. I only slept a few hours, and woke up early to see that my walnut tree had shed the majority of it nuts into the yard overnight. I was approximately 120 feet down the hill from my house picking them up when my elderly neighbor (and Korean War Vet) came out and said; "You need to get up here." I replied with; "Can it wait a bit? I'm just about done with this." Then he yelled; "NO SON, YOU NEED TO DROP THEM' WALNUTS AND GET UP HERE NOW!" After he filled me in, I went into my home office to watch the coverage. I'd only been viewing it for a short time when the second plane hit the other tower. I told my wife we needed to take action immediately. Even though we still had some preps remaining from the Y2K event that never happened, we left to take both vehicles to the gas station to fill them up. From there she went to pickup our young children from school, and I went to our bank to make a large cash withdrawal. After that, we met in town to pickup additional food and supplies. (Frankly, I didn't know what to expect, and all of this seemed like the best course of action at the time) In closing, I'll say that day was a turning point for me. I decided that life was way too short to continue working a job that was causing me to sacrifice too much time away from my family. I went forward with my business plan and become self-employed in January of 2002. This was a decision I've never regretted.

Can you remember what was involved in that day's first period lesson plan? I wouldn't be surprised. I don't remember September 10, and I don't remember anything about the first few hours of September 11, but after about 9:00 AM, I was paying attention to the day.

And I think it's really interesting that Mme. AG was in North Carolina that day. It poses more questions (questions that don't need to be asked) than it answers, but it adds to the AG mystique.

That's the same with me. All I remember is that it was math. I was at the front of the classroom, and another 5th grade teacher came up to me and whispered in my ear what had happened.

I was riding the bus to school in third grade. At this point game boys were massive so i was distracted until we got to the school.

I remember the faces of the adults. The crt tvs were all on showing it live.

We were on lockdown and got home later than usual.

It was very surreal.
 Quoting: eyeDR3

You guys locked down?

Our parents were coming to get us right after the first plane hit.

Oh also Air Force One flew over my house.
 Quoting: Ricky M

That's interesting, where is that house? All I knew about GWB's whereabouts is that he was running around and not even telling our top military what he was doing.

Probably because said military were not pleased about being grounded on that particular day.
