Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
Off work, hung over, in the midst of a divorce and sleeping on a buddy's couch waiting for an apartment to be ready for move in... woke up & was walking through the kitchen & saw the first tv was on in the living room & he was watching a report about a 'light plane' that'd just crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers... the report had a cam on the smoke rising from the tower, live.

I thought it was a movie at first it was so surreal... and then I watched in disbelief as the second plane crashed, live.

Damnedest thing I've ever seen...

I remember when they first were talking of a small plane too

I was on the couch asleep and my mom called and told me.
I turned on the tv to see the second plane hit live.
I thought it was a replay of the first plane at first.
An hour later my military friends phoned and said they were headed out

Similar OP. I took off work that day, and my mom called me about 8:30 and said that plane crashed into the first Tower. I couldn't believe it. Turned on the TV, saw the second plane crash, then eventually saw both towers fall. I am still sick about this event. Why has no one hanged for this.

I knew the world was going to be fucked up after this happened.

Watching the news of the first plane hitting followed by the second - then watching Flight 93 fly right over my house... followed by 2 F-15s in full afterburner.

That's when I knew.

In bio class, 10th grade. Everything stopped, cnn on all the school tv’s. Even that young, I immediately became suspicious of the whole osama/al qaida thing and quickly realized it was all bullshit. The whole patriot act thing really made it obvious and sealed the deal for me.

Sadly I was hungover recovering from a end of the season work party. I didn't wake up till 2pm. I had 10 missed calls and voicemails... I turned on the tv and I was ready to go get my folks and head south. I thought WW3 was starting and this was the beginning.

Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
Was a mile away from the trade center complex going to my morning class in my college

Heard no planes at all.

After the first tower fell and second (south) i had already been on the street watching the tower in smoke , I turned around for t seconds to speak with a friend and looked back and the tower was gone! No smoke , no nothing

It's as if someone took an eraser and erased it off...nothing like what the CGI footage shows.

The strange thing is the dust had reached my house in Brooklyn, so I do not doubt the actuall collapse and dust filling the air , just didn't see it after the towrr fell!

I was skipping school and smoking weed. I snuck back to my parents Riverside mansion in time to see the second plane hit. I was 18 years old at the time. I didn't go to the war, and a friend of mine died there. I felt bad about it for a long time. RIP Mike

Headed out to go to work. I was running late that morning and traffic was insane.

My girlfriend at the time said it looks like that buildings going to fall. I told her no way they built those two towers to withstand a plane crashing into it. Boy was I wrong.

No work got done in the morning and then we were sent home just in case there were more targets.

Same with me. Was at dad's and we watched 2nd one hit. My thought was the impact looked too "graceful." That was my first thought. Surreal is right. Dad said "Do you wanna do a shot?" I said "Sure dad if you want." (I'm female) We did a shot of Dewars and life was never the same.

Friend Bill has only got 2 weeks left and I'm afraid he's gonna pass on the anniversary of his first day at Ground Zero. Day 3 as a Union steel worker. Spent a lotta time cleaning up, so pray for him as the Lord gets ready to take him from a long life of toxic chemical cancers,

On my way to work here in Idaho, we were remodeling a cancer facility and when I got there patients coming in for their daily chemo were watching the TV in the lobby.

I stood there for 20-30 min watching with them, couldn't believe it. Oh and the liquor store was packed on the way home like a major holiday.

Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
I was at work and had the radio on. The news broke. My boss had a TV in his office that was never used.
he was all business and doing nothing was unacceptable. I don't think he even liked people taking breaks. We all sat in his office all morning and watched from the time the second plane hit. Fixated to the TV. I remember feeling numb. Angry, frightened, saddened, such a mixture of feelings which can not be described.
Picked the Kiddo up from day care and went home and just held her.
There was nothing on TV all night except this. Watching it play out over and over and just sitting and silently crying.

A few years ago, I went to Manhattan and went there. Haunting does not even describe it. That is no place for an ampath to be I can assure you. I can still feel everything I felt when I was there to this day. It will never leave me.

just Got out of shower and getting ready for class.

By noon I was dropping acid and by 3pm I had already figured out that Israel was behind it all.

Working. I worked for a large consulting firm at the time and was at my desk when I heard someone mention a plane hit the WTC. Went down to the cafe to watch the news on television and saw the other plan hit live.

Left work immediately to pick up my kids from school. I thought we were at war.

Re: Morning of 9/11 what were you doing?
I just left for a company meeting in Indianapolis and 5 minutes down the road I heard the announcement. I left very early so turned around to go home to watch tv. When I got there the second plane hit. I was numb. Left shortly afterward and drove the 45 minute drive listening to the radio along the way. After I got there the meeting started on time but no one was focused and everyone decided to stop and go to the tv monitors and watch the events unfolding. The meeting adjourned and everyone went home. Most of our stores closed very early as personnel could go home for the day. Great decision by the company as no one wanted to be working at the time.
