I was on the couch asleep and my mom called and told me.
I turned on the tv to see the second plane hit live.
I thought it was a replay of the first plane at first.
An hour later my military friends phoned and said they were headed out
Quoting: Honch Had just gotten realllly high. Walked over to my grandmother's home to say "hello". Everyone was hunkered around the TV. The news read "America at War!". The towers were burning. I was 21. I went into town and saw all the gas lines. Civilians directing traffic while wearing sidearms. All the chaos and uncertainty. So we had some beers while we watched town from a hill near the cemetery with a perfect view. It was quiet but active. Made sure we knew where the weapons were. Wondering what would happen the next day and after.
