I was looking forward to picking up my girlfriend up at the airport in a few hours, then she calls and asks if I heard the news. I said "yeah what's going on, they're going nuts on the radio" she tells me the towers are on fire. I had to drive to a different airport instead of the one I normally would late that night and remember talking to her about what happened and how crazy it all was. Strange times but somehow not as strange as now. I'll never forget that period of time, there was just something in the air, I'll never forget my friends then and my girlfriend then and the music I listened to during that time. It was an exciting time in my life, I was in my early 20s, in love for the first time.. It was the end of something.
