While it would be illegal for this credit union to discriminate against potential customers because they are straight, notice they are not doing that. They make it clear that they welcome those who support their cause, regardless of sexual preference, making their discrimination political in nature which is legal. Quoting: Deplorable Revbo™ Bakeries and other businesses that don’t want to serve gay customers need to do the same. They wouldn’t get the gay business, or the gay-supporting business, anyway, so just have a policy that they don’t serve those who support the LGBT agenda and they’re fine. clear and logical. our kind of response. hope it is used! I mean, that's not to say they won't have to deal with highly publicized boycotts and purple-haired weirdos camping out outside their business trying to destroy it but, if they're going to take that stand, they would have to deal with that anyway. Like it or not, discriminating against someone for who they sleep with is against the law, but discriminating against someone because they are proponents of a certain lifestyle is perfectly legal. I once consulted with a lawyer buddy to make sure it was legal for me to not do business with a black guy, not because he was black, but because he was an asshole, and sure enough, assholes are not a protected class of citizen, and neither are purple-haired weirdos who advocate stuff some baker disagrees with. Discrimination? (nope - cuz DOUBLE STANDARDS) Jack Phillips, the Colorado baker who didn't want to violate his faith by making a cake for a same-sex wedding, is being sued for the third time. The Christian couple in Oregon who operate Sweet Cake by Melissa has also been forced to defend their religious liberty in the courts for refusing to make a cake for a same-sex wedding. While refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding is considered discrimination, creating a financial institution designed solely for LGBT customers apparently is not, at least, according to the state of Michigan. On Monday, The State of Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services approved a charter for an LGBT credit union: On their website, Superbia Credit Union says it "exists solely to serve and advocate for the LGBTQ community across the country," which suggests only those who are LGBT will be welcomed as customers. However, it also says "anyone in support of the LGBTQ affirming mission is welcomed to join and become a member." Its sign-up page reads, "We seek extraordinary people like you, who believe we deserve to keep the profits of our own efforts," and asks visitors to "Sign up today and be notified by email when Superbia Credit Union will open its doors to the LGBTQ Community!" Regardless of how you interpret their purpose, one thing is clear: if you're a Christian who loves your faith, you are not welcome at Superbia Credit Union, despite its self-righteous claim to be an "inclusive organization." You just keep stringing letters together. Tell me, have you come up with a fake element to number and to put in the fake Periodic Table of Elements, to make new fake time zones? |
