Opie that is the truth, because recently I had been keeping a close eye on a particular woman, and lo and behold everybody else around me was too! So I made my presence known, and slowly little by little, we were having longer and longer conversations, and one day it just turned out that we were both mutually attracted.

Now that we're going steady everybody's flipping out but you snooze you lose as they say!

I know, was just joking.

I remember them from my older siblings having their 45rpm records growing up. Up until the accident that nearly killed Jan, and left him paralyzed and barely able to talk (for the rest of his life) they were riding the wave of fame on the "surf sound" they actually helped develop along with the Beach Boys, their friends. I remember I would freak out as a young kid whenever I heard "Dead Man's Curve" which was a road in the L.A. area that caused a lot of car wreck disasters and very near there is where Jan totaled his car & nearly died. It was life imitating art at it's worse example.

In light of Jan's accident above all I can say is "Thank God for the man that put the white lines on the highway..."

Yes! I went on streetview some years back after reading their bios, trying to imagine Jan driving his Corvette down Sunset at high speed ... scary. Not surprised he ended up running into a parked truck. Jan was quoted as saying, before the accident, that he'd drag-raced down Sunset "several hundred times".

Thanks. My older siblings owned all these records when I was a toddler/young child, then I got them as hand me downs and grew up playing them/BLASTING them, appreciating them & always loving all of these songs, plus most of the oldies that have been in the replies.

This particular song must have 2 different versions because their 'studio' cut is even more amazing than this one. But I don't know how or why, unless they were actually singing here live to a recorded track, which I doubt, but who knows.
