VVD parliamentarian Dennis Wiersma told Radio 1 on Thursday that revelations in the NRC newspaper on Wednesday about weekend schools run by fundamentalist Muslim organisations are ‘enormously worrying’ and ‘are directly opposed to everything which we want’. The paper reported that in some mosque schools children are being taught people of different faiths deserve the death penalty and to turn their backs on the values of Dutch society. I love and respect people and I never make a difference between whatever religion as long as they too respect the way I stand in life, but we have come to live in a society where it is considered an outrage to call the things as they are. Nowadays every opinion where it comes to especially religion needs to be handled with soft silk gloves and those who are crystal clear in their opinion, as respectful as they put it, need to defend themselves for it. We live in an upside down world, that needs clarity and strictness a thousand percent more than all those softy committees of so called wise men.
