I've given up on trying to discuss the economy with boomers.
Atleast all the boomers I know in my personal life seem to think everything is fine.

The debt isn't a problem we can grow out of it.

We still need China for manufacturing because they want cheap slave stuff.

Russia and China buying tons and tons of gold for atleast two decades now isn't indicative of anything. We still have alot of gold in fort know. Maybe we do...i honestly don't know. But even if we do them buying hordes of buillion is indicative of something.

This morning I woke up and saw the drone attack on the saudi arabian facility, went and told my boomer roommate and he says oh its not a big deal. I asked him if he even knew what happened? He said no but it's obviously not a big deal because it hasn't made fox news. Well now it's on Fox news and the wall st journal Now SA is shutting down half their oil production while we send the majority of our domestic oil out of the US.

He calls me pessimistic while I see him as overly optimistic and in a bubble from the 70's.

His idea of hard work is being a cashier at a grocery store.(He actually said this to me) He lives off the two years he worked at lexis nexus and made 100k a year which he invested.

The whole situation is annoying.

I mean im not saying I'm right on everything but the sheer inability to see things from any perspective other than this is highly frustrating.

I feel for ya brah.. most boomers are deep into 'system playing' that is what you are observing.

eg. play the game, play along, get your goodies.

simple, that is why they believe in the system.

it is difficult to get them to see that the system could lie to them, not really care about them, that their lives could be mostly meaningless, that they are PART OF THE PROBLEM in fact?

And so it goes.

clappa

The stock and bond markets are gambling. It is not a zero sum game as it creates 0s & 1s out of thin air. Creating money out of thin air dilutes the current value of 0s and 1s.

So it is not just gambling but theft as well.

And we love it.
