Will definitely try that, I think it’s happening again lately hf

I suffered for years with headache, neck and shoulder pain because of grinding my teeth. I did everything, mouth guard, valium, massage, chiropractor, nothing helped. Then I found out I had a slipped disc in my neck and since I had no injury it was just degenerative, my spine doctor told me to use an inversion table, that helped and suddenly no more headaches or pain in shoulder. I even went to Chiropractor for years and I haven't seen him in a couple months because I also use a big Styrofoam roll under my back and adjust my back and neck with it myself. I also have a neck extension thing lol, but that helps a lot too. Lately all I've been using is just a neck pillow and the roller thing under my back. My jaw still clicks but only at night depending on my neck position but doesn't during the day.

I hope it goes away for you too, I know it creates a lot of physical pain.

It could have been worse. He could have tried to scam you into a prostate exam. Maybe he already did.

Re: my now former dentist tried to scam a root canal out of me!
what the hell! I went in yesterday for a routine cleaning and all of a sudden they tell me I need a root canal done on one of my front teeth. I didn't believe them. I have no pain, no nothing, no graying of the tooth, absolutely no reason to believe this is true. The dentist told me I needed to come in today to have it done or my body can get an infection from it and I could die.

I went to get a second opinion at a dentist that accepts emergency appointments and they said I didn't need a root canal.

I just can't believe they even tried this. This is horrible, I wanted to cry when I found out they lied to me.

Gynecologists in less educated places like Indiana do a lot of unnecessary hysterectomy.

Local lab tech induces cancer scare over nothing and doc offers two surgical options— although I suspect he offers uneducated women only the one that pays best.

Local women talk like it’s just a normal part of life to have a cancer scare requiring surgery. “All that taken out.”

These innocent patients are sexually mutilated and maimed forever. In old age their other insides are all bunched up because of the missing uterus

Local doctors do that to the sweetest most affectionate and trusting naive people you’d ever care to meet. The doctors of my youth would be outraged. Doctors from other countries are visibly angered.

Take care of your health and wait for AI to replace them.

I had no idea this was going on too. My doctor is very ethical and she even say's "they want us to do this BUT" and she doesn't do what they tell her to do. She does my gyno stuff too.

This is a very rural and very low wage place. I live here because I’m attached to the farm. Relatives tell me very patient rly again and again, “no one wants to be here”. Well that’s no reason to amputate people’s oegans! I mean I’m sorry if a doctors life is a disappointment t to him and his mother but that’s no reason to go full tilt ghoul on other human beings!

Re: my now former dentist tried to scam a root canal out of me!
There are a number of dental scams these days. One of the big ones is wisdom teeth extraction. My dentist told me I needed all four of mine removed, so I set the appointment.

Then, I did some research and found that a possible complication can damage vocal chords. I make my living talking (radio/podcasting), so I said "no, not right now."

He said I'll have a lot of pain very soon, and it won't go away until the wisdom teeth are removed.

That was over 10 years ago. No pain at all (knock on wood).

Wisdom teeth removal can be a scam. Beware.

Read up what the bastards do for the root canal procedure. Probably better to have the tooth pulled than go through that god damn butchery.

In my experience dentists dig for gold, the older the dentist, often the more crooked.

this was a young woman, not far over 30 my guess.

She's paying off school loans with this sort of tactic.

Might want to let the dental society know of your experience.

Never thought about school loans being a motivating factor. But my teeth are perfect, I have a Hollywood smile, she should at least attempt this scam on someone with already fucked up teeth.

Sadly, so many dentists are like optometrists, and even vets. Opto's and vets are getting so mercenary, as people wise up to the scams that are being perpetrated regarding the cost of glasses, and of pet meds and food. You can get human equivalents (some pharmacists will even do this now) in the correct doses, usually for less than 1/3 of the cost of the "pet" meds that are IDENTICAL, right down to brand.

The problem with dentists is the same as doctors - you can't double check the results yourself, and if they call emergency, you have to make some pretty hard choices, fast. Luckily I have standard answers... "No, I won't take the meds. Am I dying? And are you willing to sign an official document to that effect? Also that you will GUARANTEE that the condition you're telling me is so dangerous is DEFINITELY more dangerous than the possible side effects of what you want to prescribe?"

You'd be amazed how quickly they back off and change their tune when you ask them to be LEGALLY responsible for the choices they make about your health and welfare. Good on you for getting that second opinion!

cheers

I sure hope that you never go back to that dentist who tried to scam you. You are smart so I don't think that you will.

I think that you should report him for that.

Dental board of examiners in every state. Usually just the the threat is enough but pay couple hundred and have a junk yard dog Lawyer send the letter.
