Didn't hear the sirens where I am in South Maui, but read on social media that people in North/Central Maui (Kahului, near the main airport) heard them and assumed it was a false tsunami alert. The sirens didn't sound for very long. Reports of sirens in Honolulu (Oahu) as well.

The thing about the original “false” missile alert is that the system is automated so the explanation that one guy pushed the wrong button is bullshit. This current one is bullshit too. HPD can’t originate alerts. Now, I’m not sure if it’s connected but Honolulu airport has been having ongoing electrical problems which have been mostly impacting TSA.
