Ours waits outside with the cat for the food to be refilled. He's afraid of us.

Very nice! I'd probably make pets of at least a few of them!

I'm overjoyed that the town heeded the will of the people, and didn't go full government on the birds due to one offended person!

Nice idea but it would be hard to make pets out of them. They make whopper size turds and they are a very big bird when fully grown.

They are very territorial and the male raises the young.

Their weapons are their feet/legs and can slice you open, you wouldn't be able to outrun one in the wild unless you're an Olympic sprinter.

Okay, maybe "pets" is too strong of a word.. We visited a small zoo that had a few big ones and they are a very intimidating bird. Very prehistoric. It's like looking at a real life dinosaur!

I tend to treat emu's like snakes, I just turn and walk the other way.
