I have prepared for hard times. Still I would walk away from all of it to snag a ride on a starship. I want an upgrade and some freedom from the duress of growing older in this failing package. Dying is not a problem, looking up at a level of existence beyond this gravity and being unable to reach up and share it...is the problem. I do not understand how I can become one of the millions that are lifted into the sky. I fear looking up and watching the ships slowly rise into the clouds leaving me behind. My answer to the question? I will react with joy and gratitude that I was here to see it happen. I will drop everything and climb to the top of my house! I actually keep a long ladder close to the best spot, laid on its side, just in case. If I get to witness the arrival my spirit will soar. I have to say that I have always just accepted there was something out there that was real. People that call hokum and see demons everywhere are simply pathetic and are victims of true delusion. Thumping on religion after religion over the eons of this civilization speaks for itself. Mankind has gone thru a lot of gods over the ages. It has also gone thru a lot of assorted demons and devils. Sadly, millions of people have been slaughtered in the observance of these sacred religions and even today the assorted gods pit millions of devout followers against each other for the greater good of whichever preacher or cleric is best trained to incite the minds to the greatest hatred while using the word love. Don't get me wrong here... Gods and religion are useful and help some find meaning in their lives. If you need a god, find one and be happy. I just wish more people would keep an open mind that maybe there is a god out there who is older than 2021 odd years and can be just as suitable in the overall picture. |
