"NEW: The Air Force announced on April 17th - that it will no longer base strategic bombers outside of the continental United States."

There's a few things going on here. US pulling all bombers back to US soil.

1. US having bombers 1-2 hours from targets will now be 6-8 hours from targets
2. US bombers in Guam are sitting ducks (China, others)
3. Changing the rotation avoids strategic predictability, and allows operational unpredictability.
4. Subs got this.
5. War positioning.
