Anonymous Coward User ID: 59007022 United States 09/21/2019 07:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've tried everything, but one bit of advice that has helped me quite a bit - if you can't get to sleep don't freak out about it, be ok with being awake and don't try to fight it. I used to get into a panic, but now pick up a book and tell myself it's no big deal. Better just tired than anxious. |

Joe in JT User ID: 75049243 United States 09/21/2019 08:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When I'm feeling anxious and can't sleep I take Benadryl. It's for allergies and clearing up your sinus I guess, but it makes for a very good relaxer. This is what I do... please do what you think is right, and check everything out and read the instructions. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76695796 United States 09/21/2019 08:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Play a light rhythm on your thighs as you are laying there with your eyes closed. Dont count, dont think, just focus on the rhythm. Make the rhythm a slow to medium pace, nothing fast. Just focus on it left, right, left, right... Focus on the the rhythm and nothing else... after what feels like 10 or 15 minutes start to slow down the rhythm little by little.. And then stop when you feel like stopping and just lay there. You will not even remember when you fell asleep... The brain like repeating patterns. It focuses on it. Gets mesmerized by it. This is how and why hypnotism works. Except that you have going to sleep in your mind and subconscious... so as you mesmerize yourself eventually you put your brain into a sleep pattern from the rhythm pattern. Try it every night for a week. Eventually you will find the “quirks” and pattern that work best for your brain and adapt the rhythm timing to something that works even better for you. |

Only took one not the full dose of two. Slept from 1 am to almost 9 am. Best sleep in a long time. Had earlier taken the usual magnesium and melatonin but couldn’t fall asleep. |

I freak out too when I can’t sleep, then everything negative runs through my mind trying to figure out why I can sleep, because it’s not my norm.. thanks friend! |

User ID: 72636821 United States 09/21/2019 08:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I grew up on farm in Transylvania, our neighbours used to have a huge linden tree next to their house. In May/June when tree was full of flowers , awesome scent around, this family could not wake up for over 16-20 hours. They asked my father to wake them up. I remember the old man sleeping all day under the tree, many times we thought is dead. This family was very relaxed, quiet, never fought each other, even though a dozen of them, 3 generation lived modestly in same house. Try Linden flower tea, drops heart rate, blood pressure relaxes every nerve, I've been using it all my life. Last Edited by Hermit 48 on 09/21/2019 09:00 PM |
