The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the first live, non-replicating vaccine indicated for the prevention of smallpox and monkeypox. [ link to www.contagionlive.com (secure)] Apparently they're not so consistent about getting the "non-replicating" part right. The "non-replicating" adenovirus used in the J&J covid vaccine is replicating in the wild, and may be the culprit in the recent wave of child liver failure / hepatitis.
