My bank keeps asking me what my occupation is when I do a transaction at the bank. Why the repeated question?

Tell ‘em you’re an international man of mystery.

I asked the teller if that was a reason for it, and she said no. and at the end, I told her I used to be Attorney General and she believed me and finished the transaction. So nope, it was not about verifying my identification.

I'll probably be getting extra advertisements in the mail from them.
