Pretty much how I feel as an outsider. He hasn't delivered on draining the swamp and he's surrounded himself with crazy neo-cons, but the forces arrayed against him are strong. To be fair, compare him to Putin. Putin has been on the job for two decades now as Prime Minister, then President, then Prime Minister, then President again. He still hasn't drained the Russian swamp, but he has reigned in the oligarchs. He told them to keep their money and stay out of politics. He had an advantage because the Russian bureaucracy was in a shambles. Trump has to take on the bureaucracy and courts that are at the heart of the swamp. The dumbest thing Trump has done is to argue that the House Speaker should be able to depose the President... as long as it's in Venezuela and not in the USA. Does he not see the parallel between Guaido and Pelosi? |
