Red meat never was the problem. It's all the additives they inject into it during processing.

Kill your own game and eat the fresh unprocessed meat. You will be healthier.

Grass fed is much better than grain.

Just buy from a local farmer that does it right.

Nothing wrong with your way either.

of course it was!

humans evolved to eat meat, the only thing available to prehistoric man year-round.

berries in season, nuts in season to be gathered.... eggs when birds were nesting...

only meat is available year-round.

applause I feel so much better after deer hunting season, more energy and better mood with red meat.
I will not debate this, but (I think some bible teachings suggest people did not eat meat until after the flood)

Yes, our pastor taught this. No sense debating it, since it's only a subject for discussion, and NO real impact on our lives, anyway....

Paul said in Corinthians that - now - ALL THINGS are good for our consumption, and nothing is considered sinful.

You get an important amino acid profile in red meat.

It does give a feeling, many amino acids do (NAC, L-Tyrosine). People are going to be depressed if they aren't supplementing amino acids and certain vitamins when abstaining from meat.

Yes, meat gets you "high."

What has never changed is each person must make the effort to engage in a balanced, OMNIVOROUS diet to achieve all 23 amino acids in their proper proportions.

Nobody ever implied to go off the deep end and go vegan or Keto, fasting or gorging. Common sense is just gone nowadayz.

It did change, sadly, with the realization that gluten in wheat has become a problem.

modern wheat has the same name as older varieties, but the gluten content has been manipulated through the roof, with many other changes to make wheat more profitable.

so eating barley rye oats or wheat (all gluten foods) is no longer healthy.

it is a shame what has become of our food. Grains are the newest addition to the human diet.... go back to nuts meats eggs fruits!
 Quoting: beeches

It's only "enriched" grains and flours.

I can eat whole wheat and Im good, eat any form of "enriched bleached" or any of that type of wheat I get stomach cramps and diarrhea.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42079668

totally wrong

Gluten is not added as an enrichment, modern wheat is bred to have more of it, as well as drastically shorter stalks.

Whole wheat has other additional issues - sorry to burst your bubble - like Roundup in the outer part of the kernel.

so enjoy your dash of Roundup with each bite.

Wheat is drenched with Roundup just prior to harvest - the practice is called dessicating the crop.

if you are not a horse, don't eat gluten foods...

Love the criticisms from the veggie / vegans and the American Heart Association. Yeah, well that's what happens when you use "science" to push an agenda to try to drive social change... When new science contradicts your old science you based your whole worldview on... you have to retaliate, dismiss, call fake because your world falls apart.

Cant read the nyt but i did read about this story from 2 other outlets.

and doing so proved how ubiquitous fake news is.

just holy moley shit. the agenda pushing and fake news of the left is unreal.

The WSJ opinion piece on this red meat story is factual, informative and not misleading.

While the USAToday hard news story tries to discredit the study with commentary from leftist organization spokespeople.

Read the 2 stories for yourself. This fake news published by the left is just unreal.

Re: Eat Less Red Meat, Scientists Said. Now Some Believe That Was Bad Advice.
So many people on this thread do not understand nutritional science even remotely and are chiming in like experts.

We’ve known for decades how animal products are completely unnecessary and have innumerable health consequences to consuming them for humans and the planet.

Soy doesn’t mimic estrogen , phytoestrogens like in plants are not usable hormones by the human body . There is literally no risk from consuming soy besides increased health due to antioxidants and other beneficial photochemicals.

If people understood how to research existing peer reviewed medical literature there wouldn’t be so many erroneous claims in this thread.

Plant based, more specifically a whole food vegan diet is unquestionably the healthiest way to live . Zero room for debate anymore .

I know what my own body tells me. If I eat flour or soy products, my gut cramps up, I get severe diarrhea, my brain feels foggy, I start itching all over and if I fall back into a diet of it, I get bad cases of candida and rashes that last for weeks.

The ONLY thing that helped heal my body was going on a mostly carnivore diet with some dairy, nuts and a selection of green vegetables (I try to avoid gaseous vegetables as they irritate my stomach as well)

What i've always found insulting is people who act like those of us who eat gluten-free are delusional or making it up, it took me 30 years of misery in my life to finally realize it was what I was eating for why I was so sick all the time.

If eating mostly meat cuts my lifespan by 10 years it will have been worth it because I just FEEL better on a daily basis and no extended life is worth having to live like I did before.

I respect you wanting to feel good in your own skin but the facts are you have candida and fungus overgrowth in general due to insulin resistance and too much intramyocellular lipid accumulation . Animal fat causes insulin resistance in humans which made you need to go Keto or low carb to resolve your symptoms ; the problem is this isn’t the way to true health in your arteries, and your way of eating actually causes type 2 diabetes due to insulin resistance . Candida is a bloom of beneficial fungus that is saving you from the deleterious effects of prolonged high blood sugar . You are simply masking the symptoms with your diet , not curing them .

Re: Eat Less Red Meat, Scientists Said. Now Some Believe That Was Bad Advice.

People are done with your agenda driven "science", we see through the lies you peddle.

You can thank your democrat colleagues for that.

I’m a Trump supporting , gun toting, business owning American who also happens to be vegan and an endurance athlete . You are attaching politics to a topic that has no relevance . You did this because you simply aren’t smart enough to debate me .
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77694560

No i did this because everyone is corrupt including so called scientist at the FDA.

And because democrats don't want you to eat meat. Not because they care about you, please don't make us laugh, but because they want you un healthy.

I was a Vegan for 2 year age 28-30. Meat is way better.

You don’t need politically driven medical establishments or regulatory bodies to study peer reviewed medical literature .
