Quoting: Goofy for God [link to weather.com (secure)] They are 82 ft above sea level this is something to watch Lakes that far south in to Florida have always bee rising and falling and up till the later 1950's it was not noticed because basically hardly anybody lived that far south in Florida because that far south in to Florida is basically swamp land. Thus all the massive amount of lakes. It's hilarious that people think something unusual is happening when it's been happening way before any European pilgrims landed on the North American continent. Even been happening thousands of years but the indigenous tribes dealt with it by migrating out of the area until the seasonal cycle finished then the tribes migrated back in to the area. |

Eventually it will be the entire Gulf region, its all riddled with underground aquifers and connections to the ocean. I think it was Edgar Cayce who predicted that at some point the gulf will swell and the Mississippi river will be huge and eventually connect to the Great lakes and divide the country. New ocean front property for millions of folks! |

Florida is sitting on huge aquifers. Quoting: vEyeSea The Floridan Aquifer is an underground system of streams, flowing through limestone caverns, spanning the entire state. And it’s the source of fresh water for millions of people. For years, water levels in the aquifer have been slipping, sending shock waves through delicately balanced ecosystems in springs and sinkholes. Geologist Todd Kincaid says due to sea level rise and changes in flow levels, saltwater is now posing a threat to the aquifer. In the case of one North Florida sinkhole, Kincaid says saltwater is now flowing in, instead of freshwater. We live on lake Minneola, the water has not fluctuated all summer. In fact, if we don't get some rain soon, I'm expecting lake levels to lower. I have a feeling we're going into a drought. Things are exceptionally dry....I have not seen this on our local news, thanks for posting! Quoting: irked77 And you live at the highest elevation we have here. 369 ft above sea level. Good choice. I almost married a lawyer from Clermont. It was a simple place then. Idk how it is now. hell.... |

This is happening because there are large oceans and superheated water underground. For the last two years it has been raining. When you develop the land around a lake covering it in concrete and houses it fills the lake when it rains. If you look at those properties most of them have been built in the last 10 years. It's nothing but million dollar homes grass and concrete surrounding those lakes now. This is not rocket science. |

User ID: 76733903 United States 10/02/2019 07:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm is SW Florida, and live 12.76 above sea level. My subdivision has all these ponds, which they call "lakes" , but are really storm retention ponds. I'm about 1 mile from an estuary/bay of the Gulf, but about 2 miles as a crow flies from the Gulf, with Fort Myers Beach being the barrier island. I'm not worried at all about any flooding from a hurricane from the Gulf, but am more worried about the "lake" (which is a nicely lit at night pond with a fountain and aerators to keep water moving) only about 35' from the back of my house. All these "lakes" are interconnected by underground pipes, as I'm sure most of these are in Orlando. If there is a clogged drain(s) or pipe, it can lead to flooding. My HOA pays several hundred grand for contracts to constantly dredge these ponds and build up the banks, and care for water grasses planted around them. So I imagine without reading all this, that it is a matter of normal maintenance and a result of several of these pipes and drains being clogged. It's been very dry in Florida in September, even though this is still considered a "rainy" month by history. Nous sommes du soleil. -- We are of the sun. |

Yep. Walt Disney World Resort is by far the biggest “recreational resort” all over the world and is also the most widely visited resort of its kind. Just how big is Disney World in Florida? It covers an estimated area of about thirty thousand and eighty acres or approximately 47.00 square miles. I believe it is also about twice the size of Manhattan island (NYC). |
