Free Will and those that don't have it - NPCs
Those that do not believe in Free Will might just actually not have it because they cannot fathom how it could exist so therefore they are operating on a series of cause and effect and don't realize there is no reason for cause and effect to exist in the first place.

The weird part is they seem hellbent on trying to convince autonomous free willed beings that they are not what they obviously see they are.

They try to turn free willed people into NPCs. In essence they are trying to kill their souls.. very interesting indeed.

An NPC is a name given to vendors or other code driven characters in a Massively Online Multiplayer game. It has made its way into pop culture though as well. It stands for Non Player Character meaning it isn’t a human playing that avatar rather an entity that is a robot or code driven to give you a task or something and is automated. It isn’t alive and definitely does not have freewill.

You are talking about a deterministic universe wrapped like clothes around an infinite being that can make decisions for the robot that is wrapped around him. That kernel of truth at the center is still free will.

I’ve always thought about it like this: Whether or not you have free will doesn’t make any difference in the course of events. Assume you have it. Your future choices, even if not “predetermined”, are most certainly predictable based on genetics, psychology, physics, personality, etc. You can do whatever you want, but an entity with infinite intelligence and knowledge would be able to predict with 100% certainty what choice you would make in any given situation.

But doesn't the people who talk about NCPs and no soul entities usually refer to others? I always hear them talk about how others they share this reality with aren't real, but they certainly are.

I never seem to come across those who believe they are without souls, just others?

Oh, this thread is about creaturely will.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
