BBQ Boy, you should post your son's blood type and maybe a 'go donate me' page. This website gets a lot of views on the internet, so perhaps we have a willing donor among us who is a match.. stranger things have happened, I'm sure.

On an a positive and interesting note ~ I’m close to two guys who received kidney transplants. Both were successful and are now living healthy, full lives. One is my plumber, in his mid-sixties by now, and still as cantankerous, as ever. The second is my nephew. Not only is he an avid hunter, he is a sophomore in college and is studying engineering.

I tend to avoid threads like this, having gone through a spinal fusion that nearly killed me. Then my dad had open heart surgery, and I just couldn't be there.

I wish everyone the best and hope and pray God blesses them, but, these things happen. Sad but true. I Just remember to look to our Maker for solace in good or bad. Gotta have faith, I guess is what I am sayin, but prayer doesn't hurt either. (I just tend to avoid threads like these for the stated reasons.)

Give Me Strength, Lord

Lord, you are Holy above all others, and all of the strength that I need is in your hands.

I am not asking, Lord, that you take this trial away. Instead, I simply ask that Your will be done in my life. Whatever that means, that is what I want.

But I admit that it’s hard, Lord.

Sometimes I feel like I can’t go on. The pain and the fear are too much for me, and I know that I don’t have the strength on my own to get through this.

I know that I can come to you, Jesus, and that you will hear my prayer. I know that it is not your intent to bring me to this point just to leave me in the wilderness alone.

Please, Lord, give me the strength that I need to face today. I don’t have to worry about tomorrow.

If you just give me the strength that I need today that is all I need.

Keep me from sinning during this trial. Instead, help me to keep my eyes on you. You are the Holy Lord, and all of my hope rests in you.

Oh my, this is so much for him and the rest of the family to handle. But at least you know what the solution is, and he has a team of kidney specialists to work with. He's young and strong.
