I found a discount program for Renvela (sevelamer carbonate) at the pharmaceutical companies website [link to renvalue.com] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76867438 It saves $300 per refill for up to 12 refills, so $3600 per year savings. To print the coupon there is a "click here" button at the above link. Let me know if you have other meds to look up. I'm retired with a background in this, and nothing but time on my hands lol. God bless. I'm sorry I didn't reply to your previous post, but we do read everything and follow all links. He has to be on medicare, medicaid or have insurance to qualify for that. His insurance just expired on on Tues the 17th of this month. We thought it was good until 1/1/20. I did save the link and as soon as we get him sorted we will be using this service if it's available to him. Last Edited by BBQ BOY™ on 12/22/2019 09:41 PM "Never underestimate the pain of a person. Quoting: DestinyAKA-Des Early Christmas morning, I'll be adding $50.00 to Dakota's GFM. It currently stands at $4,425.00. Almost half way to his goal to help with daily expenses, transportation, meds and so on.maybe even some books he'd like to read during dialysis appointments. Yes, Dakota deserves to get something for himself. The reason I'm writing this post is. After my donation, we'll be only $25.00 shy of his half way mark. I'm hoping there are a few Santa's Helpers here who can donate towards that final $25.00. Maybe $5.00 each? I think it would be a wonderful Christmas Gift from loving and caring GLP Christmas Elves, to help Dakota to reach this half way goal. God Bless Dakota, BBQB, Wife...and all of us in this season of sharing. Prayers are always welcomed too. God hears them all. Dakota's GFM Christmas Stocking. His Heart included. They are saying now the damage to his kidneys was due to high blood pressure. Thats whats on the paperwork anyway. Quoting: BBQ BOY™ We got a letter from Social Security yesterday, they denied his claim. They said because he did not have enough work credits they did not even review if he qualified for disability under their rules. We will appeal their decision after the holidays. I'm also going to have him take the letter with him to his Doctor at the Fresenius clinic and see if they can get involved. Im sure they have had other patients with similar situations. We Thank all of you for your continued support of our son and our family. A no for the first two applications is normal. They want to see if you will drop it. Contact an attorney that specialiZes in this work, preferably a former SS Judge. They will get it for you. Mine only took three months with no further effort on my part. Just do not let it drop. Yes from what everyone here has told us we were not surprised he was denied, in fact we were expecting it so there was no grief or depression connected to their decision. . And we will continue until he gets approved. The GLP community has pretty much guided us through every action we have taken. We really appreciate this !! My son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 16. Children's Hospital told us to apply for medicare immediately because it's a long process. Not that he would use it, unless we lost our medical benefits for some reason. Then, of course, when he got older and was responsible for his own insurance, he would have the peace of mind knowing that he would have coverage if he ever lost his job and his benefits. We were told it could take as long as 2 years and that it would be turned down at least once. It initially gets turned down for not being a "life threatening disease" and the doctor needs to confirm that it is and paper work needs to be submitted again. So, what they are telling you is right, but keep at it, he will eventually be approved. |

User ID: 45329550 Canada 12/25/2019 01:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As per returning donations I will tell you a (shortened) version of what happened today. My ex had a child with an Aussie fellow. He forgot to put money into her account and she was at the checkout with nappies and groceries and her card was declined. The woman behind her paid for it all and took the receipt and refused to give her number. You do not give to get back, that would be a gross grievance to the giver. Giving without expectation of return isn't charity. It isn't 'karma points' it doesn't put another notch in your belt when you approach St Peter. people give when their hearts well up in concern for another and that is it. So have a merrier Christmas WITH the money, or whatever. I think, and I can not think for another I know, that no one would want the money back. Heck get new tires to drive back and forth to dialysis with. Make sure the vehicle is all tickty-boo (English phrase for all good) and such. You seemingly have a long road ahead of you and everyone who chipped in gave you gas money. At this point he still has not made a withdrawal from the GFM account. We were really praying that the SSI would go through and we could refund all the donations. He still has $387 in his bank account. That will cover the small costing meds but when the Sevelamer Carbonate needs a refill in 17 days he's going to have to take some funds outs. That med is $1230. Oddly enough the Fresenius Clinic where he gets Dialysis holds the patent on that one. We have pretty much exhausted what we have but are budgeting ourselves to keep the House and utilities paid. Praying for Miracle nightly. Wow, that's a lot of money, BBQ. For just one script too! Bumping this thread and hopefully, people will give a few dollars here and there to cover these expenses until we get our miracle. Merry Christmas and much love from my family to yours. We are overwhelmed by your prayers and generosity this morning. We Thank all of you. Due to the hectic nature of our lives we didn't put a tree up this year. We did manage to cut some corners on some things and get Dakota two pairs of jeans and two flannel shirts. He really needed them, he has lost so much weight his clothes are falling off him. We will be going first to my brothers house for Christmas dinner and then to my wife's brothers house after that. I'm sure Dakota will be showered in gifts at both places. We called ahead this morning to make sure no one is sick at either place. Just a simple cold would land Dakota back in the hospital. The days to follow will be pretty busy also. He has Dialysis on Thursday morning. Friday he has a Doctors appointment to check the fistula and schedule the next surgery. We also have an appointment with a SSI attorney on Friday too. Saturday is Dialysis again, then we have a couple days off. He has also been on the phone with Medicaid and we think they have found him a plan he can afford. Its $45 a month and they are sending him the package with the details in the mail. So that's where we stand as of this moment. One again we Thank all of you so much.
