since he is an AdULT.. why is he NOT on Medicaid... I do NOT comprehend this.

If you read back a page or so, he has applied but they have not approved him yet. They keep sending him more letters asking for more documents. First time it was CMS form, we sent a copy of that to them and a week later they requested proof of citizenship (Birth Certificate) and last years W-2 form which he just received on the 18th and mailed a copy to them on the 19th. Three days ago.

If you know a faster way to jump through these hoops, please do tell, because we will comprehend it.

Get on the phone to your Senator's office, and maybe your House congress critter. Get them involved. Sometimes they can light a fire under these bureaucrats! That would be my recommendation!

Absolutely! Good advice. They helped get the VA rolling for my Dad.

The agencies kowtow to reps and senators because they control the purse strings.

Yes they do, and they can ask for a particular person, and usually they just tell them what to do and they do it! It's one thing that politicians are good for, there's probably a couple other's, but it escapes me at the moment!

Just a update for this past week. We still have not heard from Medicare, or Social Security. Some of this may be due to us not being able to provide my wifes W-2 form to them yet. She works for the city and they dont give them out until the last payday of the month which will be the Friday the 31st.

After the vein mapping on wednesday we had a consultation with Vascular team, they have scheduled another surgery for Feb 13th 5:30 a.m. This will be the third attempt to install a permanent access point. Last surgery they tried in two places and both failed.

We got some good results from the Fresenius Lab this week, all his levels were at or above goal, other than protein levels.

The Fresenius Financial adviser also gave us a form to file for financial assistance through The Kidney Foundation. Why they didn't give us this when his insurance expired is beyond me.

So that's where we stand as of today. Thank you all for all the support you have given our son and us as well

I hope his albumin rises, if that was the value that was not good.

His Albumin goal was 4 or higher, he was at 4.4 his enPRC was what was below, his goal was 1.1 or higher and he was at .09

With all of the craziness, I haven't checked in lately. I am up to date now. Just wanted you to know I am thinking and praying for Dakota and the family. Hang in there during this very stressful time! Much love.

Thank you, He is at dialysis right now, I don't have any other new information to share though. As soon as I do I will update everyone.

So we are still in Limbo here. We heard from the Adjudicator that's reviewing Dakotas Disability case, She said she requested information from us and we did not provide it and this could result in her denying his claim.

We did provide what she requested. We provided a copy of his medical records as she requested while we were with our Attorney. 231 pages front and back were Faxed to her on the 13th of Jan. How did she not get that? 462 page fax? We have a copy of the Fax timestamp.

She ask us to call to clear this matter up. 30 voicemail messages left to her in the last 10 days. No call back from her.

Getting real aggravated with these folks. We document everything and have started recording our phone call with them. I cant blame it on the agencies we are deal with, I pretty sure its just the individuals that work there.

There is a lot of love here at GLP. I know that all of us thinking & praying for Dakota here have helped. We can help him beat this!

It could be something as simple as their fax machine ran out of paper and nobody bothered to replace it in a timely manner and screwed up the transmission of the fax sitting in the queue. It's obviously not an efficient office. 462 pages is a ream of paper. I'd suggest sending a copy by Priority Mail.

We made another copy and sent it Certified mail . That way we have a Receipt and a Signature she got it.

It's a full time job just keeping up with people who don't do their jobs. You are doing a good job juggling everything. Life has gotten very complicated for you. Hang in there!

Nothing, not a peep or even return phone call from anyone. Only thing definite this week is he has surgery again on the Thursday to try AGAIN to get a permanent viable access port put in. We have to be at MCG at 5:30 am.
