Good to hear! I did see that all renal medicines come from China, as well as 80% of our antibiotics! I have never heard anything so ridiculous!

Thinking of Dakota all the time, BBQ Boy. Did you see the link from the poster who improved his stage 4 kidney failure with baking soda? He has avoided dialysis!

There are some new rules at Dialysis for 'Caretakers" we can no longer enter the facility. Only drop Dakota off and Pick him up after his treatment is finished. So we got shutout because of the Coronavirus.

So now we have some concerns and no one can answer our questions. The main one is if we (the USA ) go into a quarantine situation. Will we able to take him back and forth to treatment? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Prayers and candle lit for Dakota

Well, we're on the same wavelength and I'm not even involved in Dakota's care.

Woke up this morning and that's exactly what I was thinking. What happens during a quarantine to Dakota's ability to travel and get treatment.

I wouldn't have clue one who to call other than the dialysis center to find out what they plan on doing in such a situation.

Its been 171 days since all this Started for our Son on Sept 28 2019. Since then he has been to Dialysis 3 times a week and each time they draw blood samples . That comes out to over 500 samples not including samples taken before or after the seven surgerys he has had.

He has an appointment tomorrow with a Blood specialist at Augusta University. Currently Augusta University has one of its Employees ( a nurse) in Isolation because she tested + for Covid-19.

I'm thinking about cancelling that appointment for his safety . Any input? I mean they have have so many blood samples already?

I would go with your gut on this one.

Can this appt. be safely postponed? Is it absolutely essential to Dakota's care at the moment?

BBQ Boy, did you see that? It's important because whatever those numbers they're looking at with the blood work is improved with the daily baking soda.

I would call to have these tests done from the blood draw they do for dialysis anyway. If they really need to, they an get and extra tube at the dialysis draw. I see no point in any of you going around all of the extra people, for all of your safety, especially Dakota's. Labs are picked up from all kinds of medical facilities everyday. They can make that happen. I would try to NOT go. Naturally if this would interfere with his treatments. However, can't even a local Dr our urgent care do the draw if it is a must?

I agree with monkeyflower. There's no reason you should have to do all of that travel to have blood drawn especially in a place that already has a confirmed corona case.
