BBQ - I am so sorry it has been crazy lately and some important things have gotten by me. I was 3 pages behind on your thread on Dakota.

Did you go to the appointment? How are things going? Did he get on an anti-coagulant. I would have said yes he should go to the appointment and they will need a new sample of blood.

What a scary situation to be in. You guys can't really avoid the exposure, just take the extra precautions. Hang in there, thinking and praying for you all. Much love!!! Please don't ever hesitate sending a PM. I don't have all of the answers but, I can look them up and decipher medical information.

Yes we made it to the appointment. Masked and Gloved up. It was at a small building outside the main hospital. No one there. They took six large blood samples and gave him Hard cover three ring binder on "Deep Vein Thrombosis" Just catching up on that now. We are being as vigilant as we can Keeping him and ourselves out of public places right now.


Having some difficulty staying within the guidelines of his Diet with all the madness going on the grocery stores right now. They recommend high protein meats like Beef and Chicken and Fish which are almost impossible to find here right now. So it's whatever we can find. But I guess they can draw it off him at Fresenius.

He has phone interview tomorrow with the Adjudicator at Social Security. (Mon. 22nd) They said it will take around 45 minutes and sent us a letter of the document he will be asked about. So we have all those in order for that. We will advise him/her that we are recording the phone call as soon as we receive it. Once Bitten twice shy.

Other than that its been just a routine of unfortunate events, day after day.

Sorry haven't been updating but had to cut back on a few things financially until we get this sorted. Cable, Phone, Internet ect.

Thanks for the update. I wish there was something to make this all easier for you all. The appointment was to get him started on anticoagulants wasn't it? I hope that happened. It can be complicated to deal with.

Can you post the gofundme site again? And are there any canned foods we can ship to you that are high protein (because canned foods won't spoil in transit)? How about tuna or chicken? Anything else we can send to help you out?

Just wanted to share this with everyone. Dakota got a Letter today from Fresenius and they said keep this with you in case of "Martial Law" <-- that is direct quote from our Son when he got home. I sux at typing so Dakota is going to type the Form in for me.

To arrive for their scheduled appointment for life sustaining medical treatment, the bearer of this letter, and accompanied family or support person, may need to travel during times of mandated curfew. As such, this individual should be allowed to travel freely and without interruption or interdiction to and from their treatment facility.

This brings back a memory of something that happened two months ago that I forgot to post about. My Wife was taking Dakota to Dialysis and she got pulled over, The Officer ask "Is he wearing a seatbelt" My wife told him he has port in chest port and cant wear the shoulder strap ( wraps his arm out of it) but the waist strap is on. He told them to go on.

That's a very generous offer A/C. We are good on food, just having to eat things outside his Diet recommendations, sodium and potassium is the biggest issue right now and the cost of his medications. It's been 178 days since all this started and we have followed the guideline for applying for assistance for our Son but the response is very slow. Even hiring an attorney out of pocket has not sped things up.

It is what is I hope we can push through it.
