Anonymous Coward User ID: 28658290 United States 05/26/2020 07:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok I will go into this briefly. We received notification that his Social Security claim has been approved. Quoting: BBQ BOY™ He will receive $522 a month starting June 1st. Out of that he will be required to pay $771 dollars every three months for his Medicare. That will also cover his Medicaid. His medicaid will pay for Generic Medicines and his co-pay will be $3.60 per medication. He is currently on eight different meds so around $29.00 a month for his medicines. And now the interesting part. First let me say our Family is humbled and grateful for the Donations made by GLP, Family and friends to Dakotas GFM page. He will receive no back pay of SSI for the Months of December, January, February, March or April. The reason they gave for this was Because of the Money from GFM in his bank account. If at anytime he had more than $2000 in his account, which he did until last month, they say he had "sufficient resources" He hasn't drawn a paycheck since Oct of 2019. So there we have it. Its water under the Bridge now and we move forward each day as we have since this all started. New News from today. He just got back from a Cardiologist appointment, they have sheduled him for another surgery, another attempt to install a graph in his arm on Friday the 15th, next week. They also want him to be tested for Covid 19 on Tuesday the 12th prior to the sugery. Ill update as soon as something new comes up. Untill then Thank You All for your support of our Family. Thanks for the update! I wanted to say that Dakota is probably eligible to get financial help to pay for his Medicare premiums. A program called Medicare Savings plan is sponsored by the state under Medicaid. Here is a link for Georgia. It looks like they pay the Medicare Part A premium. [link to medicaid.georgia.gov (secure)] I'm sorry he isn't getting the back pay, hopefully his medical will be covered retroactively. I'll be praying that this access site goes in easy and without complications! Hang in there! Dakota's a warrior, he's got this! Thank you we will look into that. Your state should have programs of this sort. my state pays my medicare premiums. |

One of my molars decided to get infected and I've been sick as a dog with it. Finally found a dentist in all of this covid shutdown and got an antibiotic. Too late for a root canal. Damn :( Hope Dakota's shunt is still working and that they can schedule an appointment to get that chest port out. Showers are wonderful and I'm sure he'd like to take one! They really opened him up last surgery, he has two vertical incisions about four inches long on the inside of his left bicep, one about three inches below the other. Also a horizontal 3 inch incision in the area of his arm where they normally take blood from. They did a sonogram and said they had good blood flow through the graph. He has a follow up appointment on June 16th where they are going to Test the blood flow in the graph. It's been eight months and two days since all this started, He is still not on the Kidney Transplant list, because he has to have a Perma-Port before he gets added to the list. Heading to Dialysis now. "Never underestimate the pain of a person. In all honesty, everyone is struggling. Just some people are better at hiding it than others."
