my colleague one told me her brother was entering rehab... i immediately asked her, 'so your brother been addicted since he was in high school right?'

"yes."

i didn't have much to say or can offer up any sympathy to her at that moment, i still think about her and their family, only son, loss of the family line...

Sure. Blame everyone except the addict. My family and I live in the same country, but we've never touched the stuff.

If I wasn't so tired, I could bust a wicked move on a post about opiates and the world of people at large...but I am tired, both physically and I'm tired of the fucking drugs EVERYWHERE! I am getting tired of talking about it.

They closed our Border Patrol Stations down here in southern New Mexico a bit back, and one of my methadone clients got in the car and told me about two weeks after they were closed, "V, you can't believe the amount of heroin in our town right now. It's scaring me." And meth, fentanyl, and pills. All that fucking temptation.

I HATE it.....

OP: I feel ya on this one. It sucks when someone you care about dies from this shit. My best friend since childhood died from opioids. He didn't overdose, he got hooked & slowly faded away. We grew up together & always ran around in the deep woods goofing off or camping, & in our teen years we chased skirts. He looked like a clone of Brad Pitt, but was painfully shy with females (go figure). By the time he was verging on death, he looked like Gollum from LotR.

I had moved to a different area of the country, & before I left, he wasn't involved in opioids. Few years later, he was hopelessly addicted to oxycontin. My initial response wasn't helpful. I berated him as being weak-willed & tried to shame him into quitting. I truly had no understanding of the power this shit had over him.

As he started losing everything & his life was disintegrating, I tried to get him into detox & rehab. I even got into a fistfight with his drug dealer & body guard after trying to warn them off from him (got my ass handed to me). But you fail when you want to help someone who doesn't want to help themselves. He vanished & began living in halfway houses, & I gave up finally. Soon afterwards, he was dead.

Our country is under attack by China & these pharma-cartels. These opioids are weaponized to kill.

Lovey, addiction is a wicked, wicked thing. You and I don't suffer from it, but my brother did. My bother tried to take his life twice - very serious tries, mind you - due to his addiction. His life will never be the same.

It's so complicated and all knotted up....and to just say blame the addict first and then everyone else too, is not productive. Blame gets no one anywhere. It solves nothing....and got damn, sister, we need solutions. Our fellow country folk are fucking dying by the tens of thousands.

It didn't have to be this way. It was MADE this way.

"They" have taken grave advantage of Humanity's trials and tribulations of self, addiction....and I personally? I'd like to see them burn in hell for it.

And I'd like to see every addict get they help they need, when they're ready. And they seem to almost always become ready at some point or the other, when their face gets ground in the dirt, or they fucking die.

Heroin likely isn’t the problem. It’s a symptom. Heroin addicts are almost always trying to numb themselves or escape from some type of pain, like depression and other mental illnesses.

And mental illness is caused by demonic possession and influence, spiritual illness and decline. NOT by ‘neurotransmitter imbalances’ and other psychiatric bullshit. Doctors just lead people away from truth and sedate you with drugs, but sometimes sick people really need drugs.

That is why heroin has such a ‘grip’, and why the opioid crisis is so big, and why most people can’t understand why some people get themselves addicted to drugs while most don’t need them.

It’s all related to our horrible current spiritual condition/decline. Demonic possession currently drives many insane or to drugs, sexual deviancy, and ultimately death.

Sorry for your loss, that addiction is almost impossible to break. I hope she's healing in the next dimension. Has to be rough for a parent to see this happen to a daughter.

My husbands daughter from his first marriage was given an opioid prescription by her doctor for a broken jaw from sports. She became addicted as many people do and overdosed a couple of years later
I personally know 17 young adults or teenagers who have died in this manner
