I was going to bring this up so thanks for starting it.

First that Dam caused them to move over a million people out of their ancestral homes towns and villages, those people were mostly older but took care of their own needs, now they live on government subsistence in some run down part of one of their over crowded cities with no opportunities, jobs, or way to provide for themselves. Many ancient ruins and historical sites were also flooded, along with rich farming land.

Now just a few years after completion the damn thing has major problems working the way it was designed, and recently there's been reports that there's major cracks that may cause a complete failure.

Yeah, great engineering and quality control is China's greatest strength... LoL

To answer you, I just give you two points.
1. Bridge to nowhere during Bush era.
2. US infrastructures are crumbling. Yes we have highway everywhere. But it was built 70 years ago. Way pass the designed lifespan.

We do not even have money and trained labor to rebuild. Heck we don't even have politicians to lead to rebuild this country.
