144,000 is a purely SYMBOLIC number. It represents saved people prior to the tribulation.

The apostle Paul was the Apostle to the Gentiles. He was the first to preach Saved by Grace alone. His ministry began the dispensation of Grace.

The dispensation of Grace ends with the Rapture and the begining of the Tribulation.

The tribulations purpose is to deal with the un-beliveing j-e-w-s... that are stil alive.
