My understanding is that the so-called Illuminati has been set-up as the boogey-man... an umbrella term to encompass all the machinations of various secret societies and 'elite' bloodlines.

If you trace back through history, with the over-arching power of the Vatican, then really the 'Illuminati' were those who dared to question the imposed 'wisdom' of the time and sought out knowledge and Truth- and were severely punished for doing so.

We know, everything becomes inverted- when the mainstream narrative is feeding you 'evil Illuminati' this, that and the other.... they're probably not the bad guys. Moreover, it was likely a term for those in pursuit of the knowledge of Truth... which has since become associated with evil and corruption - the Saul Alinsky playbook.
