Hmmm rural Midwest here, we lose electricity fairly often from ice storms to tornadoes and never have a problem hooking our well/pump to our generator. In fact all the farmers around here seem to be able to keep their livestock and house water going off of generators, and I can promise you most of them are not electricians. Maybe you should figure out how, so you’ll not be so dependent on the state.
